How-to: Setup 2FA - Two Factor Authentication for your User Account

Further secure your account from unauthorized access.

Generally Available as of 2.206

This feature is currently optional, but will become required, so we strongly recommend enabling now at your convenience.

How-to Enable 2FA for yourself

  1. Go to Account -> User Profile
    user-account-menu
  2. Scroll down to Security and click "Enable 2FA"
    user-account-2fa-option
  3. Pick your authenticator app (Microsoft or Google)
    1. Links to the apps are in the YouLi platform
    2. Remove any old YouLi codes you've setup before (otherwise it will be confusing!)
    3. HINT: Remember which app you chose (if you use many authenticators)
  4. IMPORTANT: Save backup codes to a secure location. These are used to access your account in case you lose your authenticator.

🔐 Don’t lose these! Save your backup codes somewhere safe.

If you lose access to your authenticator app, these codes are your lifeline. To ensure you have them when you need them, we recommend either:

    1. 📄 Print them and stash them in a secure place (like a locked drawer).
    2. 🗄️ Save them in a password manager (LastPass, 1Password, etc.).
  5. Next time you login you'll be prompted to enter your CODE like this:

Can I avoid 2FA on a trusted device?

Yes! Just check the "Remember this Device" when logging in to be remembered for up to 14 days.

remember device for 14 days

  • This is specific to the browser and device when you check the box
  • To clear any remembered devices, simply click to LOGOUT from any device

Why am I prompted to enter 2FA even when I've asked it to remember?

There are a few reasons this might be happening:

  • You have cleared cookies
  • You have logged out explicitly (this clears the remembered devices)
  • You are using a different browser (or private mode)
  • You are using a different device (phone vs. laptop)

Can I View Backup Codes after initial setup?

No, that's why it's so important to save them the first time. These cannot be recovered, you'll need an Admin to reset your account if you lose your authenticator AND your backup codes.

I have Platform White Label, what company name will appear in the Authenticator App?

Yours!!

If you have Platform White Label:

  • Instead of "YouLi" the Business Name set under ACCOUNT->BUSINESS PROFILE will appear in the authenticator. This makes it clear for your Affiliates, Travelers and Team Members what platform the code is for.
