Ever wished you could book more than one package (room type) in the same "booking"? We have now introduced Reservations, a more powerful way to enable complex bookings.
This is an account level feature (not per Trip) that allows you to create Reservations on the backend AND allow your Travelers to book into Reservations via Checkout Flow that include the option to:
- Select more than one room of the same package type
- For example, two sisters are booking together but both want single rooms.
- Book people into different packages in the same Checkout
- For example, mom and dad book the King Garden View for them and the Twin Garden View for the kids.
- Assign the correct people to the selected rooms
- Saves you the time of working out rooming lists later, since the Traveler does it for you!
- Allow and flag overbookings based on Trip Setting
- Combined with Affiliate Profiles
- Shows the correct Affiliate pricing based on source (pricing for Affiliates that is different from Public bookings)
- Shows the correct Packages based on source (Affiliate specific packages)

How to create Reservations
Go to a Traveller's Trip Board > click CREATE A RESERVATION
Allow multiple 'Invitation Groups' under one 'Reservation Group'
We have designed this feature so that you can have a large group traveling together, while having their own rooms.
For example:
A 'Reservation Group' can contain all of the following people:
- mom
- dad
- child #1
- child #2
- grandma
- grandpa
Within that 'Reservation Group', there can be the following 'Invitation Groups':
- Invitation Group #1 called 'Parents' = mom + dad
- Invitation Group #2 called 'Children' = child #1 + child #2
- Invitation Group #3 called 'Grandparents' = grandma + grandpa
which means there are 3 Invitation groups under 1 Reservation Group.
How to take a Traveler out of a room and add them to their own room in a Reservation
For example, if a Reservation has 3 Travelers in it:
- Heather Cho
- Jimmy Hu
- Lina Wei
and those 3 are also in the same Room/Price package, then those 3 Travelers are in the same Invitation Group.
This is what their Invoice looks like:
This is what their TripBoard looks like:
This is what Manage People looks like:
Then let's say that 1 of those 3 Travelers, Lina, needs to be taken out of that room and put into her own room, while the other 2 Travellers, Heather and Jimmy stay in the same room as before, here are the steps you need to do in order to achieve this:
Go to Manage People > check the box for Lina > click GROUP
In the popup window > click on the existing Invitation Group > start typing a new group name, such as "Lina only"
NOTE: if there are >1 Traveller in this new Invitation Group, be sure to decide if you want them to Pay Together vs. Separately, and to complete each other's tasks or not, before clicking SAVE.
Now you can see that Lina has a different colour (blue) than Heather & Jimmy (purple):
That's now: 1 Reservation with 2 Invitation Groups: 1 Invitation Group for the Lina the Traveller alone, and 1 Invitation Group for the 2 others, Heather and Jimmy.
And clicking into anyone in the same Reservation, on their Invoice, you will see that Lina is in her own room, and Heather and Jimmy are in another room together:

Allow linking of Pre and/or Post Tours
If you have Reservations enabled for your account, you can optionally link Pre/Post tours to allow for booking at the same time.
