New Features - Release 2.183 - Aug 2, 2024 - Change Package Price - Personalize Existing Booking Price

Changing a package price doesn't have to disrupt your existing bookings - while still keeping your inventory on track.

Recent Global Incidents

Many of you are aware of the global technology outages that have impacted many businesses in the last few weeks. The biggest one was the CrowdStrike bug on Windows machines

Thankfully YouLi was not impacted significantly by that incident - we did have some delays sending emails, but quickly recovered.

Then this week, some of our clients experienced 525 errors when accessing YouLi due to a Microsoft Azure issue on their CDN (which we use along with many other services like Minecraft). A few customers saw inconsistent access issues during a window of about 10 hours on July 30 while Microsoft handled the incident. This mostly impacted UK/European clients + a few US clients, as it was during Australian night time. The MAJORITY of requests were still handled (we actually saw an increase in user activity those days compared to the week before). This incident has now been resolved.

No platform is immune to these types of disruptions, so we cannot assure you these things won't happen again, but we can commit to being responsive to restore services as soon as possible.

Sometimes it is something we can fix ourselves (if it is our bug), sometimes it's something we have to wait for our service providers to fix.

We appreciate your patience and availability to respond to our communications when an incident does occur.

What to do if you think you're experiencing an Incident with YouLi

We are developing a new process for reporting and escalating incidents to track and measure response and resolution times in line with our SLAs (Service Level Agreements) 

For now, please continue to open tickets via support@youli.team or use our ticket form

REMEMBER: the more details you provide, the faster we can resolve, for example:

  • When did this start happening?
  • Who is impacted? Just you, or your travelers or team members?
  • Provide links to the trips you're experiencing issues with
  • Provide a loom to show the issue with more detail - sometimes we can see things on your screen you don't realize are important
  • Specify which type of device you're using (iPhone, Windows Chrome, etc)
  • What is the impact to your business?

πŸ”’Change Package Price with Option to Lock in Existing Prices

Do you need to edit package prices without impacting people already booked onto the package? Now you’ll have the option to β€œPERSONALIZE PRICE” to lock in the booked price when you are changing the package price. 

If you see this tooltip, then you'll know the option will appear in the next step:

On the next step you'll be prompted to make your decision:

Don't worry: you don't have to use this feature, simply click "DO NOT PERSONALIZE" to keep doing what you've always done.

πŸ’°Manual Payment Labels NOW in Payment Exports

When you "Record a Manual Payment" you have the option to change the Label that shows to the Traveler on their Invoice. And NOW it will also appear in your exports:

  • Manage Payments -> Payments -> Export
  • Trip Dashboard -> Reports -> Payments -> Export

Did you know that our Mobile app for Travelers is included in PRO and above?

But of course, we work great on mobile browsers too - so if you find it confusing to drive your Travelers to LOAD IN APP, then you can simply request we disable the mobile app feature on your account.

In that case YOU will still see the button (as an upgrade prompt) but your Travelers will no longer be prompted to LOAD IN APP.

⏰ Just a label change: "Payment Schedules"

Changed label from "PAYMENT INSTALLMENT DUE DATES" to "PAYMENT SCHEDULE" to be more clear about what this feature is.

We've gotten many requests to calculate the actual amount of the Balance Due (Remaining) on the Payment Schedule show on the Traveler Invoice:

Since this is a value that can change based on the payments made, we do not plan to change this for Fixed and Percentage Payment Schedules, but if you need this feature, then be sure to use Dynamic Installments so that your Travelers will see something like this:

We had a glitch with our new editor that prompted you to upgrade to access Unsplash images and to edit images. 

Click "Get from Stock" to search the Unsplash library of images:
