# Manage Room Inventory for EACH Accommodation with Room Blocks (Enhanced Itinerary Items)

**Have you ever needed to manage room allocations across MULTIPLE accommodations in the trip, where people room with different people in each location because of different room configurations in each hotel - so the [package level room inventory](https://support.youli.io/360001960716-how-to-understand-and-set-up-your-pricing-packages?hsLang=en) doesn't quite cut it? **
### Now we have a solution to that problem: Room Blocks!
You'll be able to:
- add as many accommodations (hotels, etc) as you need on the trip
- add as many room blocks as you need
- allocate people on the trip to those rooms
- see clearly when you've filled your rooms - **so you know if you've got capacity for more people**
- see clearly when you've allocated all your people - **so you know if you need more or less rooms**
- purchase a [Custom Role](https://support.youli.io/creating-a-limited-analyst-user-with-youli-role-based-access-control-rbac?hsLang=en) who can help you Manage Room Blocks
- OR purchase the Accommodation Group Leaders role to help you Allocate People into Room Blocks

### How to Use Room Blocks
Once you've purchased a license. You'll find a new option under MANAGE HIGHLIGHTS & ITINERARIES when you click to ADD ITEM.
**Simply select the type of Enhanced Itinerary Item to set up an Accommodation Item:**
The check-in and checkout date/time are shown
(and you still have the option to "Also show on Highlights")
**Select the ITEM PRICE to add this transfer service as an add-on.**
Use this for optional Pre and Post night extras to drive up revenue on your Trips.
Just like per-person add-ons, once responses have been received, the price can no longer be changed. This item will be included in configured reports and exports from TripCRM.
- **Shown on Invoice: Price Per Room Optional Add-on**
Regardless of how many people are in the Invitation Group, they only pay for the extra cost of the Room
- **Shown on Invoice: Price Per Person Optional Add-on**
Each person in the Invitation Group will be charged the extra cost of the room as an optional add-on.
You can then manage room block allocation and know exactly when you're ready to lock your rooms and export the allocations to send to the hotel.
### Who can use Room Blocks?
#### 1. Team Members
- [Team Members](https://support.youli.io/360001314975-team-roles-trip-planners-collaboration?hsLang=en) can "+ADD ROOM BLOCK" (green button) by naming the room blocks 
- Only Team Members can "EDIT BLOCK" (black button); Accommodation Group Leaders cannot
#### 2. Accommodation Group Leaders (comes with the purchase of Room Blocks feature)
- Accommodation Group Leaders can *only* "ALLOCATE PEOPLE" (green button) and in the popup window: search, select Traveler names and "ALLOCATE" (red button) them into to the room
**NOTE:** How this interacts with Co-Planners, Custom Roles or other Group Leader type roles:
If you want these roles to **ONLY have access to Room Blocks,** then it's included in the cost of Room Blocks features.
If you want these roles to have access to MORE than just Room Blocks, then there is an extra fee for that -- see #3 below -- Custom Role.
#### 3. Custom Roles (purchase required)
If you want a group of people to be able to do *more than* what Accommodation Group Leaders can do, but you *don't want to pay full* Team Member user seat licenses for them, then [Custom Role](https://support.youli.io/migrated/creating-a-limited-analyst-user-with-youli-role-based-access-control-rbac?hsLang=en) is your best choice.
You can purchase dozens or hundreds of Custom Role seats (and call them what you want, eg. "Group Leaders") and have empower them to manage room allocations directly within YouLi.
This approach ensures accurate tracking of all travelers, eliminates copy/paste mistakes from spreadsheets, and allows for easy exporting to send to the hotel.
The allocations will be copied within the same trip or between trips when keeping the invitees on the copied trip (they will be moved to Status = "Invited" but retain their room allocation)
You will need to define what you want them to see, access, and edit in YouLi.
